Members can earn badges by achieving certain goals on Strawman.
This is to better recognise the efforts of members and to enable the community to more easily identify the better contributors.
There are three badge categories:
Members will earn the performance badges for beating the market over various time frames. As our market benchmark, we use the S&P/ASX300 index as measured by the Vanguard Australian Shares Index ETF (ASX:VAS).
The badges (displayed above) increase in value and relate to out-performance over the past 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year and 2 years.
As such, it is possible for members to earn multiple badges in this category. For example, your scorecard could be outperforming the market over the past 3 and 9 months, but not the past 6 months.
By default, your member card will always display the highest ranked badge. You can, however, see all the badges you have earned on your profile page.
Recommendations badges are earned by adding stocks to your personal scorecard.
As with out-performance, they are ranked from grey to purple with each badge corresponding to having 3, 5, 10, 15 & 20 active recommendations over the past 12 months. Note that these recommendations don’t have to be currently active, only active at some stage in the past 365 days.
3. Member engagement
The final badge category recognises the contribution members make to Company Reports.
We use a bit of fancy maths to measure everything, but the key thing to note is that the more you post, and the more you engage with the content of others, the higher the badge you will receive.
Where are Badges displayed?
Badges are displayed on member cards throughout the Strawman platform. However, to take a closer look at what a member has earned, visit their Profile Page (by clicking on their name) and select the Badges tab.
Similarly, visit your own profile page to see how you are tracking.
So get out there and get involved! And be sure to check out the Members page to see those members with the best achievements.
